Behind the Scenes: Jungle Boogie - High Summer 17

Summer has us dreaming of beaches, cocktails and bright, beautiful colours. Which is why it makes perfect sense that Emma Pake’s High Summer 17 collection was inspired by the neon colours and geometric shapes of 80s disco. The bold prints are about being confident and having fun in your swimwear all summer long. So when it came to shooting the collection, Emma knew a tropical disco was the only way to go.

Emma wanted to create a palm tree paradise in the London studio, filling it with lush green plants to compliment the graphic lines and neon colours of the designs. She travelled to a magical seven acre greenhouse, that’s also provided foliage for the likes of Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones. Searching among the thousands of plants, Emma handpicked green butterfly palms and tropical flowers to bring the studio to life. Once the plants were set up in their new home, the photoshoot began - to a soundtrack of pure disco, of course!

The tropical background, neon lighting and glamorous 80s makeup perfectly bring to life the High Summer 17 collection. We had such fun in our very own Club Tropicana, and we hope you enjoy the final imagery as much as we enjoyed taking them.
